Spring Locations

No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow!  Have faith my friends!

While we are waiting for the weather to turn here are some images of my favorite spring photography locations. Which one will you choose for your session?

I don't often do on-location winter sessions, but I have one coming up so I went location scouting today.  I love going location scouting!  It was chilly...but beautiful.  This is Baker Park.

Summer Rose- Teen Portraits

It was such a beautiful, warm summer evening last night and I just couldn't stay indoors, so I made Hannah come with me to check out a location that I've been wanting to see.  This is in downtown Calgary at the Peter Lougheed House.  The gardens are so incredibly beautiful, and they have this amazing archway covered in roses.   I thought I'd died and gone to heaven...

This would be a beautiful location to use for high school grad portaits, an individual women's portrait session, or even a mother/daughter portrait.

Book now while the roses are still in bloom!

Hannah & Her Violin - Teen Portraits

I've been wanted to take some portraits of Hannah with her violin when the apple trees were in bloom.  Last spring when they were in bloom Hannah had the flu, and since they are only in bloom for a few short days, we missed it.  So, all winter I'd been waiting and planning for this spring.  We got them done...but just barely!   No one was sick this year, but the weather sure didn't co-operate.  Plus my son Kristian had his graduation the weekend that the trees were in full bloom, so by the time we got out to the park they were almost all gone.  So, the images didn't  turn out exactly as I had dreamed, but we still got some beautiful ones.   I love shooting outdoors on location, but this is what you have to deal with...bad weather and quickly changing foliage.  Maybe we will try again next spring.  These were taken at Baker Park in Calgary.

A Walk In The Park

I've been checking out the parks to see if they are ready for me to start shooting.  Things are gettin green!  Here's a few test shots we took at Edworthy Park over the long weekend.
