The Beauty Project - Sharon W

This week I'm featuring images from my friend Sharon's Beauty Project session.  I've known Sharon for many years but hadn't seen her for awhile, so it was really great to reconnect with her and do this session for her.  Sharon is a very busy mom to 4 boys, so it was definitely great for her to have a girls day out that was all about her!  We had a great time during her session, and at one point we got the giggles so bad that tears were streaming and  makeup almost got ruined. The funniest part was that while this was happening I was balancing on two chairs above her so it was definitely NOT the time to get the giggles....which of course was exactly why it made us laugh.  So not only did we have a great time we also created some gorgeous images.  Enjoy Sharon's story and her beautiful portraits!

Makeup by the talented Jenn from Painted Sparrow Artistry.

How old are you?  I am 52

Are you from Calgary? Yes

Do you have children?  Yes, 4 boys.

What do you do for a living?  I work from home in two businesses, and homeschool in between time.

Have you ever had a portrat session (by yourself) before?  Yes a long time ago...I needed a head shot for acting.

Why do you want to participate in The Beauty Project?  Because I love the work that you do and would love to have the chance for a glamour look.

What does beauty mean to you?  You are making me cry really because I know it means who I am, not how I look, and intellectually I understand that, but my heart has a hard time living that out.

When do you feel the most beautiful?  When I take care of myself and get ready and fix myself up.  Dressed up.

What does being a woman mean to you?!

What do you love about yourself?  I don't know?  I really don't know!  I like that I can adapt.

Tell me your story.  I have been working hard at coming out of the self-esteem hole I have been in.  I am working at loving myself....and the essential oils have helped...balance hormones, etc. I want to get back to loving myself and taking care of myself.  It is time.

Sharon teaches about and sells essential oils.  If you are intereted in talking to her to find out more about her business and these amazing oils please contact me.

Sharon, your story is bringing tears to my eyes as I'm typing this out because I totally understand how you feel.  As busy wives, mothers, and business owners it is so easy to put ourselves on the back burner...for years!!  And then one day you realize that you are tired, you've forgotten who you are, and that something has to change.  I get that!!  Sharon, I want you to know that you are an amazing woman and that you are beautiful both on the inside and the outside.  I'm so glad that you are taking the time to rediscover yourself, and your beauty, and that you started this journey by participating in the Beauty Project.  I hope that through this you can see how truly beautiful you are.
